"Free" Internet Service Offers- are they really free?

I was one of those people who always clicked on those little pop up things hoping to win a free game system or something. After doing a small amount of research, I've discoverd that those offers are never really free. They always include several hidden fees which turns out to be equal to the retail price of whatever you were suppose to be winning for free. Some sites offer you a product free for a short time period and automatically sign you up for their program as soon as that time period is over. Other providers give you numbers at which they can be reached and they always tell you its a toll free call, but as soon as the call is over, you realized that you were charged for it. These companies have several different ways of getting money and they always find a way to succeed in their plans.
